The bank has kicked off a food drive, Basket of Thanks, and will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items at its Frankfort and Empire offices through Monday, November 19. State Savings Bank will top off each food basket with a turkey and distribute to families in our region.

“State Savings Bank is so grateful for the support we have received from our community throughout the years,” said Dee Krug, State Savings Bank Mortgage Officer. “Because we enjoy these wonderful blessings, we want to share our gratitude and provide a bountiful table for our less fortunate neighbors this Thanksgiving.”

Donations are being accepted at State Savings Bank’s Frankfort office, located at 703 Main Street, and at its Empire office, located at 11470 S. Leelanau Highway (M-22). Items can be dropped off at the offices Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Basket of Thanks is a wonderful example of how just a little effort from members of the community can brighten the lives of so many,” said Ms. Krug. “We hope that our neighbors will answer our call to action and donate food to Basket of Thanks. If people will think to drop off a can or two of food each week, we will be able to spread joy to many families this Thanksgiving.”
